General characteristics SCR Air insulated rotary Load Break Switches are indicated to be used in modular MV switchboards indoor metal-enclosed type up to 24kV/630A/16kA, for public distribution and private industries and for the control and the protection of electric lines and transformers.

Technical characteristics

SCR LBS is composed by a metallic structure containing the mobile-contact rotary-shaft (copper bars within an epoxy-resin body), the operating mechanism and the fixed contacts.
The frame is connected to the grounding system assuring the conveyance of the eventual leakage currents to the earth.
SCR design permits:

easy mounting from the front of the switchboard.
segregation between the bus-bar compartment and cable compartment .

The transformer protection function have the LBS equipped with stored-energy-type operating mechanism and fuse-blowing automatic tripping device. The accessibility to the fuses is only allowed with LBS in open position and earthing switch (ST) in closed position.

Types

SCR is suitable for several applications needs and, with the accessories available, may satisfy any kind of configuration requested.
There are two types of SCR:

SC6-I equipped with spring-assisted-type LBS operating mechanism
SC6-F equipped with stored-energy-spring-assisted-type LBS operating mechanism.

Both types speeds are independent of the operator action.
