TGS Series
Compact type SF6 insulated Ring Main Unit.

General characteristics

TGS SF6 insulated Ring Main Units are indicated to be used in MV switchboards up to 24kV/630A/20kA for public distribution and private industries and for the control and the protection of electric lines and transformers. TGS are specially indicated for installation within prefabricated substations.
SF6 insulation and breaking system assures high reliability and endurance and requires low maintenance since the TGS tank is sealed for life.

Technical characteristics

Self-stand metal enclosed type TGS SF6 insulated Ring Main Units, are in fully accordance with the IEC 60298 (CEI EN 60298) standard.
The SF6 load break switches (BS6 system) used in TGS series are contained in a compact hermetically sealed metallic tank, which is connected to the grounding system assuring the conveyance of the eventual leakage currents to the earth.
The tank is equipped with a safety-valve for eventual over pressure and a valve for filling or recycling of the gas.
TGS design permits an easy operation from the front of the switchboard and assures segregation between the cable compartments.

SC6 Load Break Switches are equipped with BS6 SF6 breaking system.
Main contacts assume three positions:
  • LBS closed
  • LBS open / earthing switch (ST) open
  • earthing switch (ST) closed
The breaking contacts and the earthing switch positions are indicated on the front-side by use of a safe-kinematic-chain-signaling-system. (IEC 129).
