MA6 Series
MV modular Ring Main Units, with SF6 insulated Load Break Switch.

General characteristics
MA6 series is suitable to be used in MV systems up to 24kV/630A/20kA and is a set of prefabricated cubicles for indoor use designed for public distribution and private industries and for the control and the protection of electric lines and transformers.
MA6 switchboards are equipped with SC6 type SF6 Load Break Switch and, in some configurations, with SF6 insulated Circuit Breakers having the following advantages: a drastic reduction of the cubicle dimensions that makes this set suitable for the installation inside prefabricated substations. suitability for the execution of MV switchboards in accordance with any electric scheme. improved personnel safety. low maintenance. flexibility for eventual future upgrading or expansion.

Technical characteristics
Enclosure MA6 series are metal enclosed type switchgears in accordance with the IEC 60298 (CEI EN 60298) standard. Panels are made of zinc coated steel with thickness not less than 2 mm and are built up with press-folded components, assembled by use of nuts and bolts or rivets.
	The standard protection degree is IP3X in accordance with IEC 529 (CEI EN 60529) standard. Cubicles are divided in three compartments: bus-bar compartment. breaking compartment. cable compartment. All operations are realisable from the front of the cubicles. The position of the breaking contacts and earthing switch are indicated on the front of the cubicle by a safe-kinematic-chain-signaling-system.
Load Break Switch (LBS) (SC6 type) SC6 type SF6 insulated Load Break Switches used in MA6 series have a welded metallic tank hermetically sealed for life. For further information see the "SC6 series"

Circuit breaker
The circuit breakers used in MA6 series are made by leading international firms and equipped with, manual or motorised operating mechanism, while the control device, is realised with electronic relays and integrated toroidal type current transformers.

Transformer protection cubicle
The fuse-switch transformer protection cubicles (F type) have the LBS (SC6-F type) equipped with stored-energy-type operating mechanism and fuse-blowing automatic tripping device.
The accessibility to the fuses is only allowed with LBS in open position and earthing switch (ST) in closed position.
